What do you see yourself accomplishing in 2013?
Sometimes writing the things you want to accomplish, or
better yet, creating a visual board makes you accountable.
Last week, I attended a 2013 Mapping and Manifesting
Workshop by certified life coach Sonia
Lopez. One of the things that
workshop talked about is "manifesting". It is true that some people
raise their eyebrows when they hear the word "manifesting". But manifesting just means "make things
happen". And no one else can make
things happen for you -- except YOU. Ms.
Lopez also emphasized why we need to create SMART goals: Specific, Measureable,
Attainable, Realistic and Timely goals.
And every day, is one step closer to defining and attaining
your goals.
On February 16, 2012, my first book, "Out of Status"
was published as a Kindle e-book on Amazon. I can't tell you enough what that day
meant. It was just a beginning of a journey that opened too many doors, a
journey that fulfilled so much.
I was scared before hitting that "publish" button.
Fear does encourage us not to do anything at all because in our mind we feel that it is safer to do nothing. We are afraid to make mistakes. We forget that we often call mistakes are actually life's invaluable opportunities to learn and improve.
My husband gave me the go-signal, and reminded me that "our fear is often
the wall that separates us from our goals." With the support of my family and friends, I embarked on a task I didn't think I was capable of doing.
And once I got a handle of my fears, multiple doors opened. And
believe me, opportunities were pouring!
Once you put yourself out there, you have to be ready. Your next task is how to
deal with making choices: what choices to pursue, and which to disregard.
And yes, sometimes we have to say "NO" in order to say "YES".
And yes, we have to remind ourselves what it is that matters most --
what it is that makes us happy.
