"Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are." ~ Chinese Proverb.
Chill out. Wind down. Relax. These are the goals we set for this week's vacation in Vermont.
I turned 48 last week, and as a gift, my husband took me to Stowe Flake Mountain Resort and Spa in Stowe, Vermont. I had an hour of the Lemon and Chamomile Exfoliation treatment and massage. Needless to say, I came out soft and renewed.
The women's spa is separate from the men's. I kind of like that I can have my own time.
After the treatment, I spent another hour just contemplating how blessed I am. I took some time at the hot tub.
And then stayed at the sauna for 15 minutes.
Put my head down, and closed my eyes -- reminisced how eventful my year had been!
I really enjoyed a few quiet moments to myself before joining my husband at the Aqua Room where the Bingham Hydro Therapy Water Falls and Hungarian Mineral Soaking Pool.
I even tried the steam room!
So back at the Aqua Room, I rested for a while longer, reading my book and snapping some pictures with my iPhone. Do you remember the American Express commercial, "Don't leave home without it?" Well, my iPhone kind of took over that slogan.
I had been looking forward in spending a few hours at this room. I wished I have this in my backyard. It's a total "zen-room"!
The Hungarian Mineral Soaking Pool is one of my favorites. The Hungarian Salts are world renowned for their high content of mineral and trace elements. I was told that the 20-minute soak is helpful in stimulating circulation. The water is heated to 101 degrees, which helps promote muscle and joint mobility. All I know was that I left this room, feeling renewed!
The Bingham Hydro Therapy Water Falls is another favorite of mine. It massages and relaxes your body -- and it's a fun experience, too.
Today, I felt like a princess!
After my spa treatment, we went for a short walk.
I love taking pictures of nature.
Flowers just make me smile.
There's something about nature that reminds me of God.
On the way back to Smuggler's Notch, Vermont, where my crumbcatchers were waiting, we stopped by another Spa and Wellness Center.
The resort itself , the Stowe Mountain Lodge, was stunning.
So of course, we had to check it out.
Walked around the back.
Instagram'd a few photographs.
Took more pictures
before checking out the Spa and Wellness Center.
This Spa Center had a different look.
The pool looked amazing - and a great view!
This is the lounging area at the Spa. Maybe next year, I'll check out the Spa at the Mountain Lodge.
The resort's lobby is amazing.
The architecture and interior designs are spectacular.
We were tempted to stay and have some drinks, but our crumbcatchers were waiting for us back at Smuggs.
But before we left, we checked out the restaurant.
Pretty impressive! We would take our crumbcatchers her for dinner!
I would love to just travel the world and visit various Spa and Wellness centers
