Happy Birthday, Mr. Magoo

I can still remember the day I went on labor! I wasn’t due to deliver until April 10th but my little guy just couldn’t wait to come out to get my hugs and kisses! It was a tough pregnancy and a very tough delivery…and I STILL have the varicose-spider veins to prove it! But now, my little guy is my dearest best friend! We watch iCarly together. We can sit for hours in the living room, just reading. We sing while we bake goodies for every one. We walk to school every day – rain, snow or sunny day. Just this morning, in the “cold” rain, we walked hand-in-hand as we laughed while doing the multiplication table exercises. (My three older ones are almost 21, 18 and 14) I’m lucky to be able to be with my little guy from Day One! Two months into the pregnancy, I became a full time stay at home mom! I said “good-bye to a very lucrative consulting job, and said “hello” to twenty-four-seven hugs and kisses! My little guy and I will be growing “older” together – dancing and ...

Week 5 of my P90x Challenge - Do I proceed, Switch to Insanity or fit-in Hip-hop Abs?

5th week of my P90x Challenge started yesterday a nd I just can't wait for the spring to come... (looking forward to staying at the Yatch Club and then off we go to Delray Beach!) Gotta have some fun, soon! You know me, I believe that, "Every second, every minute, every hour is an important moment in your life!" - jf  The 5th week is similar to the first week except that there are 2 new DVDs: Chest and Back is now Chest, shoulders and triceps; The Shoulders and Arms is now Back abd Biceps! Over the weekend, I met my dear friend's girlfriend. They were over for dinner and to my surpise, there's actually someone I now know that finished the P90x challenge. Funny thing, she thinks the P90x challenge is not that intense and now I am intrigued in trying a new DVD from beachbody.com : INSANITY! Of course, the next night I checked out the link and I now I have a dilema: Do I complete and see my P90x challenge to completion, or do I switch to t...

Keep on smiling, even when it seems impossible to smile...

A time to reflect.... Sometimes I wonder when I gaze at the vast blue sky,          why am I here on earth? Sometimes I wonder when I revere the comeliness of the leaf-less trees on a winter day,         why is there anger in people’s heart?         why is there sadness? Sometimes I wonder how marvelous it is,      to have witnessed the sun in its full brightness,      it’s rays lighting up the blue skies,      and clouds form like cottonballs so pure and white; Sometimes I wonder how gorgeous life is as the snow-covered park radiates on a stormy day; Sometimes I wonder how a child’s heart is filled with love and laughter; Sometimes I wonder why loved ones say “good-bye”,     when I’m far away,     where distance separates me...

Snow Day!

The kids' first snow day of 2010! School is out, and we still have 24 more hours of snow to go! The view of our backyard from my family room window...   View  of the deck from our dining room... Our 65 year old tree.... The view of the backyard from our balcony... The view of the street from my bedroom window.. The view of backyard from my office window... Snowday means baking our tradition blizzard bread, the mandell bread! and today's Day 17 of my P90x Challenge! This is why I do the P90x challenge! Honey's apple-blueberry all natural pancakes! More snow... Stay warm....Be safe and Keep smiling!

Don't give up now! Week 3 of my P90x Challenge

I think someone wants to join me in my P90x challenge! In almost any endeavor, in order to succeed, one has to be committed to performing the task, do the hard work and see the task to completion! Just like the squirrel that’s standing on my deck Monday morning. I bet he (or she) wanted to find those acorns, and no matter how freezing the temperature was, the squirrel was not one bit intimidated by us or the weather! It had to do what he (she) longed to do…   Sometimes I wonder what it is he's actually thinking... This week marks the 3rd week of my P90x Challenge . Day 15 is back to Chest and Back – my least favorite exercise! I can’t really do the pull-ups and the push-ups, but I pushed myself to do it anyway. This week, the schedule is as follows: - Chest and Back, Ab Ripper X - Plyometrics - Shoulders and Arms, Ab Ripper X - Power Yoga - Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X - Kenpo (my favorite) - Rest or Stretch (Tried 30 minutes of t...

Just having fun....

As Albert Einstein once said, "There are two ways to live your life: One is as though nothing is a miracle; The other is as though everything is a miracle." The serenity that comes with the first few snowflakes got me all psyched that I wanted to just have fun and play! So here are some of the pictures I took from yesterday’s snow and some “tinkering” using Picasa (I still have to purchase Photo Shop!), and a little help from some fine writers. ...so go whip-out that paint brush and dream BIG! ...so remember, every thing you cherish is a work in progress... …and it’s not how you fall that matters, it’s how you pick yourself up and stand tall afterwards… … and as a dear friend, Deborah Larson King, summarized my prospective in life, "Life is choices and attitude." So as I tell my crumbcatchers, "Life is all about being happy." --so take time to laugh and smile. (Today is Da...

I finally did it!

“Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward the life that G-d intended for you with grace, strength, courage, and confidence.”      – Og Mandino “Sometimes our fate resembles a fruit tree in winter . Who would think that those branches would turn green again and blossom, but we hope it, we know it.” - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe It's spring fever.... You don't quite know what it is you DO want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!” – Mark Twain “Be like a flower, turn your face to the sun .” – Kahlil Gibran "Yesterday is but today's memory, tomorrow is today's dream." - Kahlil Gibran “Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later.” – Og Mandino Seems like a trivial accomplishment, but today's snow ...

Week 2 of my P90x Challenge and some wisdom from an 8yo

Nobody said it was easy! Today is Day 9 of my P90x Challenge . ( Yes, I’m in the 2nd week of P90x Phase I challenge. Hurray !) I couldn’t squeeze in an exercise routine last Sunday since it was Number Four’s 2nd gymmastics meet. Our youngest is the only one who really got in to sports which involve giving up our weekend mornings. (Although when my oldest, Number One, was little, we were always running around to different dance competitions) There are some memories, although not captured digitally, will always be in our hearts and minds. When Number Four received his 4 ribbons for Rings, Floor Exercise, High Bar and Pommel Horse and a medal for all-around, Number Four was beaming with pride, joy and pure happiness! He held both his hands up high, smiling ear to ear, while holding on to the accomplishments of the day. (Of course, I was teary eyed!) Hard work did pay-off. Since last September, the little guy practiced 8 hours in the gym and endless handstands at home! But the...
